Rhett DeVane is the award-winning author of eight published mainstream fiction novels, one collection of short stories, middle grade fiction chapter books, and two coauthored novels. Her short fiction and poetry have appeared in numerous anthologies. Rhett pens stories to reflect the trials, joys, and humor of life in the Deep South.
This past year, Rhett’s novel Ditch Weed won first place gold in the Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Awards. Her middle grade fantasy The Dragon Box took first place in the Florida Authors and Publishers Association contest, as well as first place gold and Children’s Book of the Year in the Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Awards.
Rhett is a Florida native, originally from Chattahoochee. Since college graduation, Rhett has made her home in Tallahassee, located in Florida’s Big Bend area, where she splits her time between writing and thinking about writing.
